Day trip on St. Kitts: The Marriott

On Day 4 of our cruise we headed to St. Kitts -where we didn’t have anything planned because of the splurge excursion in St. Maarten. So, when we disembarked we headed to the St. Kitts Marriott.
This was a happy surprise, as we are looking for a Marriott to book our points with and today we were able to see first hand if we would like to stay at this property in the future (we just earned 80,000 points each through of Mariott Chase card signup bonus).

The day pass at the Marriott is $35 per person. We had a group of 6 adults, 1 eleven year old and 1 two year old, so we opted to book a room for the day instead. Cruise passengers can book a room at the discounted rate of $159 plus tax (regular rate is $359 plus tax).

This worked out nicely, as I’m currently laying in bed with my toddler sleeping on me in the hotel room. Everyone else is able to still enjoy the pool and beach. And everyone can shower before heading back to the ship.

The staff here are so friendly. The resort is very large with an enormous main pool, pool bar and restaurant. There are perfect wading areas for little ones as well as water volleyball for adults and a nice swim up bar.

For more relaxation there are two pools on each side of the resort that offer peace and quiet.

The beach is lovely, with plenty of cabanas and chairs.

On site, there is also a casino and spa (neither of which I was able to check out).

Only negative, was our room was located as far from the pool and beach as possible. I understand this, as they are accommodating their primary customers first.

All and all a great experience. And we are considering using our Marriott points to stay here.
